I’m changing everything: in which I reveal “the real me”, and tell you where I’m jetting off to this November!

by Amanda on September 5, 2012

I’m shaking up just about everything in my life and business, and I recorded a video for you that explains it all!

Here’s what you’ll hear me talk about:
- The new (very personal) site I’m launching
- The far-flung adventure I’m taking off for on November 16th
- The upcoming “Level 2″ Girl’s Guide to Web Design course
- Your chance to work with me to build your stunning, soulful brand online

Press play below to get the scoop on all this and more. :)

Want to be sure to stay in the loop about all the stuff I discuss in the video? Click here to get on the GG2WD email list!

P.S. Big thanks to all those who sent out tweets last week to help me nab third place in Ali Brown’s “Entrepreneurs who Thrive” contest! The lucky winners are @AnneCuthbert, @EmilyKVA, @NaturalChica and @joannajg! They’re all getting their choice of a free spot in The Girl’s Guide to Web Design or an in-depth website review from yours truly. Yay!

hi amanda, I have started your webdesign program for a few days now, and I am loving it!!! I intend to launch my website at the end of the course. Kudos for your personal development ( I am also much into it, in order to be a better person, for better relationships… )
I think you are on the right path regarding branding: as the first thing to consider is to be aligned with our values, to get rid of old and limited beliefs, to reach our true self. Once it is done, “branding” is lot easier and more effective as your logo, tagline, mission, pitch etc are only an extension of yourself : alignement, coherence is power :) and it is even more powerful with passion ( so keep doing what you like best !!!!!!!)
Good luck with your new adventure, I will certainly be following your news and won’t miss your level 2 program even for a delicious chocolate cake ( my friends know it is my guilty pleasure LOL)
Lots of luck from a cosmetic formulator in France ;)

Christopher, I couldn’t have said it better myself! When it comes to branding, it HAS to be in alignment with your values! Otherwise, it just feels icky. :)

So glad to hear you’re enjoying the course, and I look forward to hanging out with you in level 2!

Hi Amanda,

Congrats on your big adventure! That’s an amazing thing to do and I’m so excited for you. Good for you for going after your dreams!

I’m currently taking your course as part of the VA Classroom and am loving it, I am already looking forward to taking the new level 2 opporutnity – that’s going to be so great. I do have one question though – will the VA Classroom stuff also be updated with changes you make to the course you offer through your website?

Thank you for everything you do for your students, it’s an amazing course.

wow amanda. growing & evolving, that’s wonderful. admittedly i’ll miss the backpackers but they sure do seem like alot of work. that’s why i always expressed how generous you are & how grateful i am. lucky for us, there are many back posts to learn from. as far as your new personal blog – that’s great. i combine my personal, business, spirituality all together. did you ever think of doing that? or does it just not the feel right? either way, i look forward to it.

your trip sounds amazing. marianne elliot – zen peacekeeper lives in NZ and has a mexican restaurant there as well!
congrats again on placing with ali brown! and congrats to the lucky winners above!

cheers from shana

I didn’t know Marianne Elliot lives in NZ! I love Mexican food, so you better believe we’ll be seeking out her restaurant. Sounds like a can’t-miss!

As for combining everything under one roof, I think you’ll understand my reasoning on keeping things (relatively) separate once you see the new site! That’s all I can say for now! ;)

And I can’t wait for GG2WD2!

Amanda September 5, 2012 at 7:58 pm

Woohoo! Auckland is our first stop on our trip (after Vancouver), so…yes! Let’s keep in touch! Would love to meet up and get the perspective of a local (awesome) GG2WDer!

I’ll second that… I’m driving distance from Auckland. ‘Course you can’t come to NZ without visiting Raglan (surfing town with a great attitude!)

Reply

Amanda September 5, 2012 at 8:17 pm

Karen, Raglan is TOTALLY on our list! Justin is a surfer, and I’ve heard the vibe there is second-to-none! Any recommendations on cute little places to stay while there?

Amanda, You never cease to amaze me! I am so inspired by you. You have already made such an impression on me and an awesome influence on my life. I can’t wait to follow along with your adventures – and hopefully one of these days can share a delicious cocktail with you somewhere in the world!

You’re so sweet! Who knows…maybe we’ll end up in Colorado at some point! But if not…that cocktail is on me. I’m sure it will happen someday. :)

Wow Amanda. Good on you. As someone who’s going through a real life change myself at the moment after being made redundant from my job as a magazine and wed editor, I applaud you! I’m halfway through the course right now and after working for years on the editing side I’m loving the new insight and empowerment your wonderful course is giving me. Hope I have a wonderful trip and if u decide to make a detour to London, come and say hello

Wow Amanda! so many awesome changes for you and Justin – sounds like you are well on your way to a life of nonconformity just like Chris Gillebeau teaches (he is one of my favourite authors – I highly recommend his books!)
You will LOVE Vancouver – I lived there for years and it really is one of the most beautiful cities in Canada.
Re the GG2WD Level 1 and now Level 2 courses – I am going to be signing up for Level 1 this month – will you have some sort of package deal to sign up for both of them at the same time? I will be taking both courses for sure but was wondering about it………
Going to miss Backpackers but I am really looking forward to your new journey :) How great is it that you and Justin can do this together? might as well do it before kids (if they are in your future) because once those kids come its a tad harder, not impossible, just a bit more difficult!
hugs from Halifax

Amanda September 7, 2012 at 9:39 am

Hi Karen! Thanks so much for the kind words…and yes, I’m really excited to see Vancouver at long last! I hear it’s pretty rainy there in November, but I think I’ll be able to handle it. ;)

Re: the Level 1 and Level 2 courses, I’m not sure about exact pricing yet, but if we decide to offer a lower price for people who sign up for both courses at once (rather than buying them separately), we will make sure that anyone who already signed up for Level 1 (Jetsetter) doesn’t pay any more than that amount. I.e. we will extend a discount on Level 2 to existing Level 1 students. :)

Looking forward to having you on board!

Congrats Amanda, I too am on this spiritual journey and feel we are all connected in some way. I am so happy to have found (or it found me) the Jettsetter course. It has enabled me as a graphic designer and artist to take my websites to a new level. It has enabled me to actually start a custom Wordpress business in my day job. It also has helped me with my new blog to help others with food allergies like mine, healthy living tips and to showcase my art and jewelry. I am looking forward to Jetsetter 2! And finally I am wishing you and Justin a very safe and wonderful journey in your upcoming travels!

Karen, the moment I saw “Moonflower Studio” pop up in our inbox (which was a few months ago now, I think?), I got a little thrill of excitement! I just love the name you’ve chosen for your business. One of my favourite books when I was younger was “The Moons of Madeleine” – have you heard it? It’s incredible!

Hi Amanda! I am SO excited to hear about the direction you are going, and I love that you are starting a personal blog that will chronicle your journey. I don’t remember if I mentioned this during GG2WD (because I was just trying to -ahem- keep it all business), but my husband and I just got back from a four month sabbatical in Bali…highly, highly recommend! I blogged about it on my personal art/travel blog if you want to check out some photos. The time away enabled me to take a look at the bigger picture, and so I am too, going through some major transitions with life and career…all good stuff, of course! And that was one of the reasons I signed up for GG2WD…I am also in the process of re-vamping my personal blog so that I can provide creative coaching services to others. Thank you so much for the coding wisdom and inspiration, Amanda!! I look forward to seeing your new site and connecting there, as well :) xo

Amanda September 10, 2012 at 9:04 am

Awesome, Desiree! I checked out your blog – so much fun to read about your experiences in Bali. We had planned to do the Bali thing, but I think we’ll save it for the end of our trip, to minimize the culture shock factor! We’ll already have been to a few different countries by then, so we should be more mentally prepped by then. :P

I would love to use the new version! very excited!

Congratulations on your new life path Amanda! I’m very excited to hear that you wish to explore the unseen. My spiritual awakening started when I was 33. The whole planet is going through a huge shift right now to inspire humanity to let go of things that don’t serve us so we can co-create a better world. Everything is energy! Here are three books that made a difference on my journey, may they do the same for you: 1) The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success / Deepak Chopra 2) The Four Agreements / Don Miguel Ruiz 3) The Life You Were Born To Live / Dan Millman

Love & Light,
